Cure Jetlag with Vietnamese Coffee

Struggling with jetlag? Drinking a cup of ca phe sua da, a popular beverage in Vietnam, is an iced coffee made from Robusta beans brewed through a Vietnamese coffee filter and sweetened with condensed milk, might just do the trick.  Munchies explains:

The coffee is served in an elegant manner that will remind you of a black and white cookie, with the sweetened condensed milk lining the bottom of the glass and the incredibly rich coffee on top. Then, after the drinker stirs the two together, they can enjoy the thick, full-bodied beverage. It should be sweet and bitter, generally carrying notes of nuttiness, depending on the bean.

Pick of the Week Coffee Shop: Third Wave

05 of 12 - Third Wave Kiosk

We traveled “virtually” around the globe to find the most unique coffee shop concept and came across Third Wave in Torquay, Australia. When you’re riding the waves or watching the waves, a quick break at this kiosk can provide you a nice pick me up between breaks. Third Wave describes themselves as:

…a current movement to produce high-quality coffee, and consider coffee as an artisanal foodstuff, like wine, rather than a commodity, like wheat. This involves improvements at all stages of production, from improving coffee bean growing, harvesting, and processing, to stronger relationships between coffee growers and coffee traders and roasters, to higher quality and fresh roasting, at times called microroasting (by analogy with microbrew beer), to skilled brewing.

The kiosk will provide a wide variety of food through breakfast and lunch. The coffee is supplied by the coffee cartel who import speciality coffee beans from around the world.
